My Brother it's been a long journey. Our hearts were broken Day after Day lie after lie, but that's not where my concern is.
You see, there was once a time when the very presence of a brother made me feel safe protected and free. That no matter where I am in this world, right next to a black man is where I wanted to be.
His voice his melaninated skin his shoulders that are broad. To his thick beard and his smooth skin. I can go on and on but then again, just know That is a God.
But I'm not going to sit here and fantasize about how great black love is. When truthfully, That journey to black love is the ugliest darkest hours of your life. Almost like you die everyday at the same time by a knife.
You get up every morning knowing the outcome but decide to keep dying the same death by a different person. All the while your heart is hurting. Not knowing when it'll get tired and stop working.
Why? After all that why do we keep dying? What can possibly be running through your mind?
It's simple. Black Love is bold and deeper than your soul. It's home for your heart. It's shelter for your thoughts.
Anything outside of that is like settling for sketchers when you know you want those expensive Jordans.
Although they take more out of you and changes for something new often, it's the best there is.
It's not always Monogamous and genuine in intent, like they say it is. And it seems to be conditional at that but what I can say that it can not be stopped.
Black love isn't just to one person. Black love is loving your people so much that you'll deal with the bull that follows for the collective advancement and survival of the entire race, so that we can take back that empire that was once stolen from us.
