Finally rested, rattled nerves
Peacefully surrender
To a lemon kissed peach Paul.
Nothing else needed, it's been a minute.
A friendly offering to join is
Graciously accepted as toasting
Follows in tradition with
Laughter and general conversation.
Soon the tensions of the day
Ascend into the atmosphere
Clearing the way to a better view
Of the world around you.
Peace flows like gentle rivers
As I prepare to reclaim the
Nightly comfort of my bed
Until the sun rises again.
Feather weights mound
My eyelids as sleepiness
Helps pull them down
Drifting me into dreamland.
Classical melodies whisper
In my eardrums like lullabies
To an infant until they
Dissipate into the night.
I rest oblivious and undisturbed.
