The Day Narrows

a port in a storm

when I'm alone in my room and then I stare at the wall

in the back of my mind I hear my conscious call

telling me I need a girl whose as sweet as a dove

for then I know what I needed was love

when I looked deep into her eyes I could see a future

filled up with hope for a better tomorrow amidst the sadness and sorrow

love is the truest essence of my mere existence

although the light inside is very dim

I know a true way where I could begin over once again

shiny faces flirting traces with midnight places

each of us is a work in progress some out of the darkness

this much I must confess

let him take residence

a chance to take part in the dance

on giving love another chance

it isn't anything fake call it fate in the process that holds

just like glue all things new bitten off far more then we could ever chew

the human heart is an opened door willing to be explored

we must think right thoughts to stay on top

the day narrows right in

where do I even begin

the cost for freedom

in letting him in

changing me from the inside yet we run away and hide

a challenge to be free is a quest of time

do you all remember when you were broke down to your last thin dime

in time special places flirting faces masked in spaces

living the ultimate dream you all know what I mean

inside we hide behind four wheels that seal

yet you persist it being no big deal

playing second fiddle getting caught in the middle

this is the last line of the riddle
