She entered and left oblivion and I was prepared. I saw the face of destiny, It was mine and it was molasses covered in confidence.I ran through multiple scenarios on how I would make my approach. Confidence is a slow teacher for an unwilling student and a raging inferno for the prepared. I was the first one and I was hoping that I would not pay for my lack of motivation.
I knew there would be a perfect time and place where I woud slide in in just the right moment and say the right words. The sky had opened up to me and I was in approach.
The words rolled like raging water carving its way down a mountain. my back was electric pole straight and my collar fixed just right. And after my words, she paued and said the words that I would remember for the rest of my life.
"No, thank you."
Faded but not disillusioned. This was life and just the beginning of something more. I would just have to be patient or move on. Either way, the confidence was with me but she would never would be.
A disillusioned destiny made real through action.
