Masterpiece

One year and 6 months into our relationship, you did something that no man has ever accomplished before,

You bought my heart

With a few boards of old, & cheap wood

I watched, as you magically build these boards into masterpieces that your mind could not comprehend

This heart of mine was destroyed long before you were a thought in the corner of my mind. Behind my eyes were seas that I would have never let you cross. Playing into your hands like putty was never in the cards for me. Like concrete glass gave you pieces of the surface that would never be infiltrated because I had previously played into the devil’s hands. I choose to play my hand as it is dealt, my heart knew that you were never worth my precious tears because I locked them away and saved them for a man who is worthy of me and my time

 The image of your surprised eyes have been etched into my mind, because I was not surprised by your actions, and I don’t hate you, I could never waste that much energy. The truth is that you were exactly what I needed at the time. A cool summer breeze with a charming energy that allowed me to lose myself in thoughts and enchantments of the soul and in you.

Who owns your heart?

Someone once told me to be careful with who owns my heart. She said baby,  It's wise to be aware of the decisions that you make, even if they hurt you and cause you to be lonely in the end. And i will not entertain foolishness Because those types of games are played by kings and queens who can afford to play games with matters of the heart. But i have never been fortunate enough to afford that luxury and I, I have been accused of being stone faced and a heartless love to previous lovers, and i make no apologies because it is better to be broke of love than to be broken down by men with no real understanding of the word. What have I become? I am tattered clothing on a beaten breast, a hollow shell who chased the wild dreams of my youth and followed them into a pit of diaster. And when i am finished i will remember to feed the stars and kisses frozen and silenced by the deadly harpoons of this time. And say my fare wells to the ever glowing moon who chased the sun away when I wished that I can see it just once more, as I walk the lonely streets of false hope paved in gold alone.
