"A Few More Burdens To Bear" There's tribulation, but also Triumph, one day no more despair
If we just can reach tomorrow...A Few More Burdens To Bear
I see chaos and people languishing, no unity amongst the races
Society's countenance has been dimmed; the lack of hope etched on their faces
I met a child, who said "Don't worry, I'm not sad because I'm poor...
"My father's in prison, my brother's a dealer...my mother is just a whore"
Deceit and Avarice, ignoble actions, Equal Justice For All...Denied!
Where can I go to find some solace?...For, these problems are nationwide
Turn on the T.V. and see the violence, hard luck stories in all the papers
Crime's miasma has left us flummoxed....Rightwing ... |

Having a fire escape is one of the most amazing things that a person could have with an apartment. Just about every morning I climb over my radiator, and onto the escape. At various times I see the most inspirational things…A few months ago were one of those ah ha! moments. My apartment is on the corner of Arlington Ave and Highland Place. However, the way that my building is situated, and because it’s a corner building makes it a part of Fulton Street as well. My fire escape is closer to Fulton Street than it is to Arlington Ave. It was early in the morning when I looked down from my perch. Passing under the fire escape were two women. Because they were already walking pass, I couldn’t see their faces. What was abundantly clear however was the fact that one of them was a Home Health Aide, and the other was her patient/client I was inspired by the scene that unfolded…Obviously, when one has a H... |

"The Road That Led To Nowhere" It was a “Worn Path†inside of a prison…
They called that path the walkway…
Five years and eight months I traversed that walkway/In the daytime and only by reason of sunlight did that walkway, which led to nowhere seem happier
There were many places that one could go on that walkway…
The RMU with its uncaring doctors and dismal ambience…
It also contained a morgue, for those who had died without family, without friends…and without dignity…
There was a big building further down, which was always alive with activity –
That was the most important building…

"When True Love Is Not Constrained" It's an enigma that has great meaning, by average men can't be explained
How our existence grows much richer....When True Love Is Not Constrained
A Man and Woman, who once were marrried, theyv'e been divorced, it's no surprise
No Sacrifice, Respect, or Unity, so Passion's Flame has left their eyes
Intimate times have been forsaken, Tender Kisses, Whispers Sweet
Not even a vestige of the Friendship which once made their lives complete
They can't be honest with each other; late night Trysts and Secrets kept
She took a lover to please her sexually, for her husband was inept
He was Ashamed, Alone, and Impotent, yet, all these things were not conveyed |
"The Homeless Are Human Too" Imagine a vagrant...asleep on a bench
Imagine his body...alive with foul stench
Picture this if you can/His life in the past
His mother a drunk, His father live fast
Cast from his home at a tender young age
Still going to school at the puberty stage
Thrown to the streets to live as a bum
Nobody caring/His future looks glum
But, The Homeless Are Human, despite disbelief
Most even have Wisdom, bring comfort/relief
So, when you start thinking they belong locked in a zoo
Just remember my Friends....That This Could Be You

"Hemmed In On Every Side" So many things are about to happen; few places that
you can hide.
New World Order, Disease, and Violence...
Hemmed In On Every Side.
Prisoner, Outcast, Loser; these sorbriquets
have made me small.
Yet, through Grace I've been illumined/
Babylon will surely fall.
I only write through the Holy Spirit; from
on High it has been Spoken.
Heaven and earth are fleeting entities,
but God's Truth cannot be broken...
On The Scroll it was decreed, I must
evince what it reveals.
