Reality shows us reminders
Of how things actually are.
Not always knowing when or where
Something will surface.
Randomly played like
Juke box songs or more so
The selective memories of our intellect,
Occasionally we'll grasp the pattern
And figure out what is or isn't
Other times we just won't get it.
Reality shows us our closed minds,
Turned heads and extended hands
As we will away the negativity
Standing before us.
Those who seem to care
Give you their perceived notion
With such vivid imagery,
They render you sightless
To everything but them.
Admit it, you got played,
We're all pawns in life's game.
No exceptions.
But you can't change the rules
Because you've changed your perception.
So please, just walk away.
Some things are best left alone.
Don't dig and dig
Til you're down to the bone.
Failure to read warning signs
Are the "I told you so" of crimes
Just go away and all will be fine.
Didn't you hear me??
Don't keep knocking on the door
Because when I roar, hearts get sore,
And just as that pain begins
To pierce your core,
I will feast on you with elevated gorge
As you lie bleeding on the floor,
'Til the threat is no more.
Humph, Africa's kingdoms
Ain't got nothing on this,
Though not dead only left
Wondering, what did they miss?
Now that time has moved on
The waters are tested
On the off chance that
An acquaintance-ship
Without communication is uncontested.
It seems you've forgotten how
Reality shows us reminders of
The way things actually are.
Not always knowing when or where
Something will surface.
Randomly played like
Juke box songs or more so
The selective memories of our intellect.
Heed my words this time
Preferably without incident,
Although the spirit rests
Doesn't mean it's not vigilant.
Don't make the same mistake twice.
Unlike the first episode,
The rerun won't be as nice.
