Us…yes us…
Because we are us
And the one thing about us
Is that there’s no one like us
And those who don’t like us
Are always trying to be just like us:
Beautiful, gifted, great and strong us.
Us…yes us…
They stole civilization from us
They stole our nations from us
Hell, they stole us!
But God gave us amazing grace—always with us…
Us…yes us…
What they stole from us
God gave back to us
Reminding us
Slavery couldn’t destroy us—couldn’t hold us
Neither colonialism or neocolonialism
Couldn’t take and hold
The Motherland from us…
Us…yes us…
Listen people, there’s none other like us
The world’s oppressed around us look to us
And seek to follow us and learn from us
But no can be like us but us
So let us be about the business of us
Completely liberating us from oppressive forces
Still oppressing us…
Us…yes us…
Listen people
Either you’re with us or you’re against us
Whatever, there’s no getting rid of us—
This country is for us too—it belongs to us
And there’s no getting rid of us:
You better hear us and stop your messing with us!
