I Just Wonder

I had a dream about a girl going places and exploring the world as if it was nothing, she was a lonely girl,

She was a lonely girl who felt like she didn’t have a heart, and the only thing she felt she had was her shadow that followed her,

She thought about being a singer, dancer, music producer, and maybe a comedian, but she really thought about being a poetess, and my did she love writing poetry,

I dreamt that she would be this big star one day and have everything she ever wanted,

She had a plan to change the world, but things did not seem to be going well for her,

She wondered why she could not be brave and confident like people before her time,

However, one day it hit her, she knew she could change the world if she tried and put a lot of effort into her plan,

She knew it would be a hard mission, but she knew if she did not start right now, she would not reach her goals,

Why Tell A Lie?

Why tell a lie when you can tell the truth,

Believe in what is right,

Escape from what is wrong,

Why tell a lie to make somebody else look bad,

Why tell a lie so that you can make yourself seem good,

Sure everyone lies, but we do not have to,

Why tell a lie to make everything seem like it is getting better, but actually, it is getting worse,

Sure the truth hurts, but why tell a lie,

Some people cannot help what they say,

If you do have to tell a lie, make sure you are going down by yourself. Lol!

My Granny

My granny is every good word, you can possibly think of,

She is sweet, kind, love, and all the above,

My granny is my first choice,

She is everything and someone I can always trust,

Granny you make me who I am,

You make life come to life,

You make everything feel alright,

My granny hugs me and kisses me gently,

My cry is her cry,

My laugh is her laugh,

My joy is her joy,

My song is her song,

My granny, I love you.

Everyone has the one special lady in their life, other than my mom, it is very well my Granny, she helped raised me growing up. She got me involved in so much, including sports, band, and various programs. You are talking about a person that would not miss any of your events. She will do anything for you, and that is what I love about this strong woman.

Take My Time

The devil is out to get me,

Trying to fool me, trying to win me,

But not on this time of life,

God has a better plan for me,

Plan and be prepared to keep moving forward,

I need to just take my time and focus on the next step in my life,

The devil is always trying to take over my body and mind,

Forcing to come over to his side,

Sometimes I ask myself why me and then I ask why not me though?

God loved me enough to put so much weight on me, but then I am like why would He do that,

But then I started thinking, he loved me so much that He put so much on me because he knew that I was strong enough to handle it,

God is awesome and there is no other like Him,

God is powerful and I learned that He works in mysterious ways,

He sends certain people into your life to open up doors for you and to be a guide for the chapter of your life,

My Inspiration, Dr. Maya Angelou

To my all time favorite All American Poetess, the late Dr. Maya Angelou, I appreciate her words of wisdom and making a change in my life. Without knowing the life she lived and the strong example of what a woman is supposed to look like, I would not have had the courage to share my poetry with others. I still remember how I felt when I was reading her book,”I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.” I used to always dream of the day sitting, drinking a cup of hot tea with you, asking you questions about your life. I won’t ever stop dreaming about you.

The Heart In Me

Can you feel it?

My heart, soul, mind, and body,

Can you see it?

Take it, and then run away, my heart does not stray,

My life is what I do, my life is how I choose,

How my heart beats when I hear the blues,

The heart in me,

Can you feel it?

My soul is fulfilled, like my inner mystery; it is just another part of me,

My soul is like gold, the treasure I hold,

It is precious, but not worth being sold,

My mind is plentiful, not replaceable, my mind can hold and store memory, like a box hold jewelry,

But my box has a lock, that only my mind can open,

My body carries a shield, that is real and full of fortune,

You can look, but please do not touch it; my body is the temple of the Lord,

I am not my own, seems like the world has a hold on me,

In my own world, finding peace as a girl,

Walking around town with an unhappy smile,

Fighting until I rest, beating on my chest,

Working for the Lord, so I can be blessed,

You cannot touch me because I am sick like a disease,

In my own world,

Do not bother me please,

I fall to my knees,

Praying to God, that he will set me free,

Wake up from this dream and flow like a stream,

In my own world,

I blow like a horn,

Shaking like a tree, through a bad weather storm,

I cannot stand still,

Like a junkie on some pills,

In my own world,

So let us chill and be real,

You cannot defeat me,

Sometimes you have to find the power within, sometimes people have negative energy, which causes you to be negative but you can be better than that. Be positive my people. Sometimes ...

Why?

Why is the world so full of evil?

Why is my heart so weak?

Why do my tears fall as if raindrops landing in a big puddle of pain?

Why are there people out there crying through the night?

Why are there hearts without love?

Do we even care about the sun that shines over us?

In my eyes, it is magical and beautiful,

Why do we treat our land as if it is trash?

I know God wants us to take care of it,

It is our nature to take care of our nation,

Why do my eyes have to see so many people suffering?

Why is there a world with different minds?

Why not make a change since we have so many different minds?

Why not change?

I know somebody has an idea..... oh let us all not go at once!!!

Who Am I?

Who am I? Am I a girl looking for a soul or a girl just looking for love?

It is hard to believe it,

Family

Having family to me means, having someone there for you if you need a shoulder to cry on, and having family to be there to motivate you and to keep you strong,

Holding you in your times of need when you are down and feel like you do not belong,

Being there to fill your heart with love in times when you cannot seem to find yourself when you are going through pain,

And reaching their hand out to you, even when they may be going through the same thing, and showing you love more than anyone else can,

Family are the ones who know your heart and your love for others,

Because who knows you better than your family,

That is why family should stay together, until the end of time.
