Angry Words

 Lost in the labrinyth of chains

the words vocalized caused a stain

in my heart

could I reverberate the same conjectures

the same claims hidden within your insecure claims

that you want to hold on tight with all your might

with your misguided indiscretions

you see what frustrates me is that 

I see white iridescent elephants 

in the room everytime you speak your words that cut, burn , and ensnare the fire 

that I can't embellish my reaction

hiddent within the crater of a shard of smoky colored glass

dripping with tingers of blood red anger that I try not to speak

I've been so angry that I couldn't even write the words 

and unfounded misconceptions that you've said

I didn't connect to the surreal fact that a shut down was eminent

and I no longer heard your angery words come out

I could see that I didn't want part of this ro...

Telling Stories

 Today, I wanted

Everything to stay

Like it was supposed to

Like it was in my dreams

In my mind, I

Never thought that this would 

Get to this point

So, I 

Tried to tell the 

Other truths that are closest to my heart

Realizing that

I am more than the troubles I have been

Enduring and I am 

Still here to tell the stories of life 

In A Sea of Words

 Lost in a sea of words

I find a haven of solitude

Ideas upon ideas

stories upon tales

written to dust off the cob webs

and to purge the soul of forgotten missteps

Lost in a sea of words

I find solace in the multitude of words 

that give rise to the dream tales

that longed to be told before they were told

latent and in hybernation

they explode

when the dawning spring gives rist to the ideas that have risen up

it gives me hope that words don't fall on nonseekers ears

Lost in a sea of words 

the labyrinth

of contemplation

began as words falling out of our heads to be voiced and written

and the hearers and seers are more grateful now because

they are lost in a sea of words 

READ ME

 I don't have to say the words that need to be said

all you have to do is read it for yourself

the words that must be read

Many times over as I glance through my heart

the words on the page are paramount

while for a chance stuck in moments of dread

the words are distinctly coming out of my head

onto this page

onto that page

is where my heart has bled

with words that were distinctly trapped in my heart and in my head

But It's Just Poetry

 Don't get my words confused

but when it's something this big

how can it lose

It can't just be words on the page

to be said on a stage

but it's more to me

than you see

in your eyes

when you say, "But it's just poetry"

I want to say it's not just poetry

it's painting pictures in motion to provide commotion in the ocean of thought

it brought down building and it has saved a man or woman

But when you say, "it's just poetry"

You don't see the multitudes explode

like the popping firecrackers that ignite every time a poet's words hit the light

And bring comfort to those who need it most

to se their brightest dream take flight

"But it's just poetry" to you

yet why doesn't it's power move you

It has the power to bring men to their knees leaving him begging

please please continue and bring in this frame of reality

Memory Keeper (Part 1)

 It’s been more than a year now since you went away
The memories of your loss are emblazoned in my brain
As I sway as you swayed in the days
before you lay asleep in your grave
The days I counted when
You were gone from me
Before the day The Creator made his way for thee
To take you home for you to stay
On the day that you went away
I take all of the things that your memories tells me
The lessons that you sent my way before the disease took you away
All I can do is remember
All of the times we talked
And the trips that made their way into our lives
Since you went away
The keeper of your memories have been things I sought
As I try to put the pieces back together
Since you went away
I am a keeper of your memories
One of many that you gave to me
On the day that it took you away
I cannot say what I wanted to say
I curse ...

Dreamers Do Too

 Tomorrow always brought more to me than what you thought it would
I recollected the day that you didn’t know the things that I knew
The ways that I surmised the progress of society
For whence I remembered one thought alone
I too have dreamt of dreams that came true
I too have dreams that I pursue
The dreamers dream
The dreamers do
The dreamers reality
Is about to come true
Facing reality
My dream
Your dream
The nightmare of those that don’t do ensues
The dreamers dream
The dreamers do
The dreamers reality
Is about to come true

Deconstruct/Reconstruct

Deconstructed reality
walking silently
in patience
waiting for . . . .
I deconstruct
the belief that I came to
don't know what I've gone through
Loving never sought to be true
But the bluest sky
couldn't be lost
on the false eyes
as you undressed me into
this uptwisted journey
I didn't want to be addicted to
the lost notions
of days long gone too . . .
but blindness
beset me
Deconstructing me
while I
turn to the forces
that have turned against me
in this battle
they didn't win me
but losing wasn't part of the plan
either
We engaged
in this full force intrigue
of words and places
misguided phrases, glances, touches
and faces
I can't disengage
from this
I've fallen
in a long ago time
or at least I thought I did
into deconstruction

Sleepy Head (Acrostic for Aria and August)

 Aria's Sleepy Head
She wasn't ready yet
Laying in the bed
Easily masking her slow
Eventual ascent to sleep
Plainly yawning and
Yawning and stretching

Holding onto
Every last moment
Allowed to her for the
Day

August's Sleepy Head
So he's up again out and on the
Loose running and screaming
Every twenty minutes no,
Every five minutes
Putting up a good fight
Yet

He's out again and it seems
Every time we try, he is
Already out until its totally
Dark in his room! UGH!!!

Crossroads

 The signs are there

they have been there but I,

in infinite optimism

didn't see until now 

It took me a long time to get to this point

Ironically, the time to change lanes has come

Crossroads in my life

riddled with frustration and strife

trying to undo a wrong to make it right 

but the change has to come

so where do I begin?

There is fearfulness

deep within my core

glancing up and wonder how I could have gotten

to this point

Its simple to see but hard to hear

the bitter truth of reality's fallout on the many wanton ears

But the crossroads have come

not quite sure which way to turn

stuck and unstuck on a way that got burnt

riddled with all the frustration and strife

trying to undo the wrong and make it right 

the change has to come from somewhere but do I know how to begin to get there?...
