I want to be your poet
Pray that my words put you in the moment
Elevate your soul when you’re at your lowest
With nouns verbs and adjectives paint you a portrait
Stimulate your five senses
And open your sixth
Mental copulation so intense
Imagining your beautiful smile as you read it
Enlightening analogies and metaphors
Discovering depths of your mind yet to be explored
To have you say, “I never thought of that before”
A message in the bottle along the shore
Pen kisses paper like lips to your cheek
Verses of embraces spilled from ink
Dances of alliteration like movement of feet
Paragraphs of passion upon the sheet
I want to be your Shakespeare, Poe, Langston, Angelou
I want to be your author your scribe your guide atop a mountain
Taking you to a different point of view
I want to be your poet and write lovely poems of you
