God is a single parent
Distracted, all or nothing, aberrant
All powerful in the since that a Dad is over his kid
Second guessing decisions rainbows remind us that he regrets what he did
Some say that he works in mysterious ways
Capable of tremendous love and outrageous rage
Floods and fire when his kids don’t make the grade
They don’t listen when
There is a lack of discipline
So when he spares the rod
They act out then say why God?
Through the screams and tears
Behind the omnipotence God still fears
For the well being of his creation
There is mutual understanding in the mist of this frustration
The child wishes to be the parent and vice versa
Although things change life remains at inertia
