Mom, this has been a long time coming.
The older I get, the more I realized you struggled
and you did it all with less than I did
4 kids and a job that pays minimum wage which at the time was 2.35
But through it all
You kept a smile
I would look and you and laugh sometimes because
your grin started at the pacific and ended at the atlantic
And this was all good
Because you wanted more for us than you ever had
And we wanted more for you than we ever could give
We lived for you
And you would do anything to make us happy
And we fought you along the way
And through it all, we had more good days than bad
And I love you more now than I ever have.
I want you to know
That because of you I am me
And with you in this world - there is no other place I would rather be
