out in the summer’s sun
on a bordering fence
a robin relaxed
while on the inner side
an unknown avian
strolled through the grass...
after pecking here and there
it flew off--
no doubt the drum major
for the tailing parade
who likewise pecked
before taking flight...
a platoon of swallows landed
surveyed and resumed their flight;
a lone Cardinal strutted by
peered through the glass and flew away...
the fence’s parallel pea green flora
swayed in the summer breeze:
a warm rhymical moment
canvased through the opened blinds
of a pane’s eye...
