Work to live, don’t die for a salary

For my words and ideas I’ll probably

Be forced to eat hemlock like Socrates

Live by my dreams and die by my philosophy

Hope to find a Plato who’ll write and then follow

Earn And learn her lessons like Aristotle

When the world has lost its marbles

Flossed, brushed, gargled, cups of antiseptic then swallow

The proof so bloodhounds and super sleuths can’t follow

My tracks so history can appreciate my wrath

Words worth its weight in gold to create a gilded path

A shiny brick road so those trolls

Can guide future Dorthys, Toto’s, and Scarecrows

Tim men, cowardly lions who suppose

That powerful men who pretend to have the power to fulfill their dreams

Will help then, when all along they can devise better scheme

To get their heart’s desires, courage, fire, thoughts and other things

Wizards are lizards, dreams are reality

Work to live, don’t die for a salary
