I once had a yellow radio

it played cassette tapes

recorded Aretha Franklin songs

played them all night long

I had a button down long sleeve

paisley shirt I that I loved to wear

I lived at the Y Down Town

I had a friend name Pilar

she died nothing could stop

the cries she left 5 kids behind

I look for them now but their

too hard to find she had a disease

no doctor could define at the time

she had a beautiful spirit

hear and mind something

these days are hard to find

if life were a cassette tape

I could insert a No. 2 pencil

twist and rewind it back to

the time just to talk to an

angel I once knew wearing

the button down long sleeve

paisley shirt I loved to wear
