dancing in the dark
those swings at the park
love’s not a fairytale
you only know, how to fail

your head flies back, cracks the window
it’s all happening fast, but moving slow
will anyone, remember you
and all the things, you can’t undo
.
smoke and glass, fills the air
but you don’t care
thinking, here’s your way out
neck slams forward, on top of the wheel
it’s hard to believe, this is real
shock steals your breath
you were never afraid, of death
.
you fall back, with a thud
you mouth, is filling up with blood
tears are swimming, in your eyes
and, you’re still alive
