In the end as in the beginning
No one criticizes us
More than we do to ourselves;
We still say our own is no less
Than the daily lubricious fecal matter
We laughingly spread about
The greatest of liberating attempts,
Opting “Wagon Train” for “Roots”!
“Blackish”, like “Scandal”, overdoes it;
“Power” and “Empire” are myths;
“Perry Mason” illuminates justice
And nothing can outdo “Days of Our Lives”,
“Bonanza”, and “The Big Valley”…Repeats;
It’s 2019, why is nostalgia such a reality
Of repeats and our status in life remains
Unchanged?
Why can’t we smell Amaranth odors?
Rather than that of dead roses;
How long must we roam
As if free born lions in an open zoo?
Surrounded by an impervious wall
Cloaked in webbing deception?
