Our youth, moist and fresh, are
in dire need of being dried and cured
to withstand today’s testing times.
Void of Rites of Passage, barely rooted
and anchored in the sustaining energy
of ourstory, our youth have become
like unchartered ships in serpentine waters:
aimlessly whorl winding in a socio-psycho cesspool.
Come Elders…let’s mirror today’s Middle Passage,
reflecting the journey that our youth
may envision the destination and their purpose—
Lease we fail in the mission of our own.
It has been written: “Train the child in the way…
Of whom shall we be afraid?”
The resurrection of the Village waits; the Youth, too!
Once more and again: Peace and Love…Village.
