An Elder Griot’s Hip-Hop Rap…

(Edited and Revised)

Sessions of revelation

Generate much mediation

On what’s really at stake

In our beloved United States

Shutdown by a freaky clown

That is still hanging around

Deceiving both them and us

With his big ring political circus;

Listen, let there be no doubt

About his money tweeting clot

Keeping the web alive with his jive

On what we must daily survive

If we have any hope of staying alive

And not again being a brutalized salve

In this land of the free and home of the brave;

So many lessons to be taught and learned

So much knowledge to be sought and discerned

So this is not about the beat or the rhymes…

So much fecal matter to wipe away in these trying times;

The POTUS fingers another rolling black ball

Shutting down pins opposing his fake wailing wall

Stuffed with sheets of the Declaration of Independence

Void of forgiveness and any form of required penitence

As slavery was not a sin or a cause of embarrassment

Neither is there need to consider debilitating impeachment;

What it is that all of us must decide to eventually do

Will depend upon the mindset of people like you;

Remember, it’s not about the rhyme…the beat…the beat…

But explaining why in time…the need you failed to meet…to meet…

Peace out…I have no doubt what you will do…

Passing the ball on to you—the foot now has another shoe.

Thank you, my Brother. I am honored and humbled. I must admit, this was indeed a challenge. I have the utmost respect for the young pregnant minds of hip-hop poetry. Peace and Love, mlowe5
