He showed up
And showed out
Right before my eyes.
He was too much
And not enough
At the same damn time.
He brought fireworks
And decided to
Light them in the basement.
Then,
Got pissed off
When the house burned down
And I asked for compensation.
He wanted to
Have his cake
And eat it too.
He seemed to enjoy
Climbing the same mountains
That he wished would move.
What a trip
He turned out to be.
He touched down
And took back off
Before I could even decide
Which memories I wanted to keep.
I hope his next take off
Is well worth his while.
I hope that
In that instance,
He takes more time to smile.
Loving him
Was such a rush.
But,
He’s not designed
To stay in touch.
