Transversing... the gap

CATEGORY

Travelling …through the danger zone…

Launching from humble dwellings

Inhabited by pockets of hardworking souls

Islands of humanity …scattered through the maze…

Between large stretching …fields of grain…

Looking down upon the remote corners and edges

Scraps of land, in pieces …and parcels

And others, cold, dark empty shells

 …unkept, dingy, abandoned shacks

Of others broken dreams …shadowed souls…

Of wellsprings of life …living in innocence, by grace

Surrounded by …love…

Prone to unprovoked attack by those …whose…

Blind …incestuous rage…

Smoldering hatreds …born of ignorance/fear

Missed, understated… passions,

Badly misplayed …anger displaced…

Islands of love in harsh contrast with

…rendered inhumanity…

Extending hundreds of years…

Those who would transverse the gap…

 Understood …the unwritten rule…

When it counts…

Knowing where you stand

…requires you to take one
