What’s the quickest way to heaven?

What’s the quickest way to hell??

Breaking bread at the Lord’s table when I ain’t ask for forgiveness but why should I?

1995 the Bronx were alive, I’m just a young man trying to see 25. My mama on crack and my daddy don’t care, my brother ain’t even make outchea. Only dreams I could ever have been between Martin, James and Canoe. Seven to Seven at Mickey D’s out on truancy, trying to pay the bills, help mama out, she taking all our money and spending it on crack. When the land -lord come on the first he want his stack, ain’t no other way what a man left to do? God, I come to you.

Is that the real color of your eyes, tattoos going down your spine. Is that your real hair at your waist, you Brazilian, Indian or Middle East? Your lips so perfect, your frame so nice every man from here to Bed-Stuy wanna cuff. What’s your name? She bit her lip, “Judy.” Judy, Judy, Judy. I’m sure the doves sing it.

What’s the quickest way to heaven?

Breaking bread at the Lord’s table when I ain’t ask for forgiveness but why should I?

Six months in at the end of the day I can’t see myself with no-one else, she’s all mine because she does things no other girl, woman would. I tell her about my mama, she doesn’t run, she’s my diary and I love her. She caught me on my knees praying to the Lord, “Get up, I can solve all our problems, no need to worship nothing you can’t see.”

1 gram, 2 grams, a kilo run it up.... have my money. “I eat; you eat that’s the way it works at my table you got it young blood?” Big Pete says. This life ain’t nothing to play with, I ain’t eighteen no more. I’m a man a real man who takes his woman outta state in my Rove. Put his family up in the “white people neighborhood” Life’s good... Life’s good. I think it’s time I go out on my own.

Interesting write BeeBelle...filled with images of pain, love and questioned choices. Not all bread is of a flour nature; some is of wheat, and the quickest way to anything lies in the choices you make at the "crossraods of life". Peace and Love, mlowe5
