Do you know what its like to have this pain
Can someone point me to the sunshine help me out of the rain
You say im beautiful i dont beleive it
I guess i went blind can you help me see it
The darkness is my light and i know this sounds wrong
I got a 11 month old and i just wish he would leave me alone
My silence is a cry for help do you hear it
Or are you fooled liked everyone else by the smile on the surface

A letter to my sonDear son, It hurts me to tell you that you will be judged because of your skin Because you dont look or talk or walk like them you wont fit in You will be followed more in stores And during traffic stops you will be searched and questioned a little bit more You see my son has to be told this because of other peoples ignorance Just because he is black, colored, African American whatever you call it he doesnt have a fair chance You see your life matter and they dont have a clue Black lives matter and i know for a fact they do |
