Of Sinking Ships and Political Loose Lips
Today, captured souls sail on a Titanic-like ship
over a new Middle Passage journey on a turbulent sea;
whose waves undulate and froth with viciousness.
The captain and crew play ping-pong water games
with the chartered course—the crew often loosing—
abandoning ship or otherwise simply thrown overboard.
A strange manifest has this ship: brain-dead minds.
Caught in Bermuda Triangle-like whirlwinds,
its destiny is beyond its strained confines
and its chaotic disorientation; a vastness rivaling
the depths of the awe of a Grand Canyon.
As is fate’s design, an unsecured ill-steered nation
is like a misguided ship in a political-python-sea;
squeezed by waves frothing with abject corruption;
both caught in off-course hurricane sinking winds.
Throughout history, wicked loose lips have sunken
many ill-fated ships; likewise, many coursed nations.
This nation must know that it is of no exception, and
that nations cannot be as easily salvaged as are ships.
Considering today’s loose lip political debauchery,
likewise, political mutiny must become the crew’s choice,
if this nation is to have an iota of a chance of salvage.
