Going Back Between the Lines…
(Apropos of A Political Allegory)
Often said but even less heeded: The more
things change, the more they stay the same…
there’s nothing new under the…[same]…sun…”
Once again, we find ourselves
in the midst of yet another
American Reconstruction;
white printed to save and make
the nation great again—by whatever
republican means deemed necessary.
Remember Lincoln’s dilemma
and initial plan to send Us back
to the raped Motherland,
and had the mendacious mendacity
to invite us to discuss the plan?
No, It’s not the first time
that we’ve heard, “Go back [echoes]…”;
such was the unofficial preamble
to the so-called Emancipation Proclamation
with its unofficial 3/5 amendment
and the now infamous Juneteenth delayed
pony express/telegraph delivery.
As we ponder today’s racist reconstruction
rhetoric, let us be mindful of its political party
equanimity: remember George Wallace?
Many more of his hue, are on the present ticket
than are of the dark hue of the first POTUS!
Often said but even less heeded: The more
things change, the more they stay the same…
there’s nothing new under the…[same]…sun…
The state of the nation today
is as it always has been; racism veiled
constitutionally veiled in political allegory:
“All men are created equal and are endowed
by their creator…” does not include those
who were and are still deemed to be 3/5.
Yes, the white print and coded footprints
to making America great again, is well documented
in his-story, and can no longer be a footnote
in ours; lest we forget that his-story always seeks
to repeat itself.
Finally, let us not decline to decipher present
allegorical racist rhetoric, being extolled today
by America’s greatest pontificator; her most colorful
political clown-character since Uncle Sam. Rather,
let us contemplate and get wisdom and understanding.
So, “…attend unto…[the] wisdom, and bow thine ear
to…[the] understand”: for the darker hue American
citizens to go back to where they came from, is to be
returned to America’s most peculiar institution—slavery!
Once more and again, often said but even less
heeded: “The more things change, the more
they stay the same…There’s nothing new under
the…[same old]…sun…”
