As we’re gathered here to worship today
Close your eyes, lend me your ears as we respectfully pray
God blessed me and you,
Yo’ mamma and your cousin too!
When we believe and renew
Our faith, yesterday, tomorrow, and today
The Soul, body, and mind some say
Change when attitudes and action consume the heart
That’s the part
Where belief blooms
Like harmony and melody in gospel tunes
Time is fleeting
Prayers bear repeating
Foundations crumble
Even the most surefooted stumble
But grace humbles
I ask that you keep your faith constant
you don’t have to bear crosses
Nor count blessing, trials, tribulations or losses
For the gift we’ve all been given
Is to walk the righteous path and keep on living
