Never be your worst enemy
nor your least critic, lest
you lose sight of purpose,
encountering confusion
of questioned choices,
condemning self, rather than
rather than assessing the extent
of movement to purpose.
We must learn to listen to self as well as
to others; to stop and listen to God,
rather than marathon praying. How else
will we hear Him answer that which
he as assured? Listen. Give Him a chance.
We cannot erase where we have been,
but can check where we are and can surly
pen where we are going
in becoming the purpose of why we are here.
We do not have the yeasting Lazarus power,
to raise and bring back the dead;
but we can, and must, celebrate their lives
and the shared lived times of, and in, purpose.
Surviving and celebrating trials and tribulations
are the wages of the labors of love—in the purpose—
to ensure coming freedom, justice, and equality.
