If You Dig Real Deep
If I dig real deep you would probably find
old wounds and forgotten scars accumulated through time
If I dig real deep you will see all the misery and hurt hidden beneath the surface through my eyes as I cried
If I dig real deep you will be able to trace the tracks of the tears embedded in my soul that were the map to my destruction
If I dig real deep you will find a woman confused and filled with fear who had given up her fight had no hope or reason
If I dig real deep you will see a girl wearing a womans shoes eventhough they just did not seem to fit in every situation sometimes
If I dig real deep you will see a woman who still yearns for her mothers wisdom and helpful hints from time after time
If I dig real deep you will see a broken spirit that resembles mine and how over the years the heart rate has portrayed a straight line
If I dig real deep into that shadow of hurt that represents my past life you will see what I have gone through and wonder how did I last all this time
If I dig real deep you may find a compilation of atrocities that for over thirty years I buried way deep down eternally only to one day realize
If I did dig real deep you would now recognize that through the grace of God I am a much stronger person with nothing to hide
