The lazy day was as still as death;
not a wrinkle of wind to be felt.
From morning ‘till evening, it appeared
as if the sun wore shades; giving a temp
that was neither warm nor chilly.
It was as if the draw-bridge of nature
had been left up; creating cosmic confusion
between her seasonal circadian transitioning.
Had waning fall and waxing winter stalemated?
Evening faded into night and night
eventually summoned sleep. I dawned
comforting PJs, turned off the thermostat,
knelt and gave thanks to the Heavenly Father
for granting me such a day I had not seen before.
