A friend of mine told me that the quickest way through school is to cheat.
I looked at him crazy and quoted a few lines off of the academic integrity sheet,
You know the one every professor puts in their syllabus and makes you read on the first day?
It talks about cheating, plagiarism, and getting kicked out of school no matter what you say.
He laughed at me and said "hey this ain't burger king but have it your way",
And I did,
I studied hard and got an 88 on my test.
No regrets, I was satisfied knowing I did my best.
At least I was until my friend slid his test on my desk with a 96 & a smiley face.
The high grade plus the no studying and no stress left me with the sour taste!
I spit that taste out and used it as motivation to score higher on the next one.
I still got a B, and he got higher by one!
Not one point but by one letter grade.
At this point I began to question every teacher who ever told me that hard work paid off,
Because I was working myoff and he was sitting on his doing nothing,
But my dad always told me if you want things to change you have to change something.
So next test I went to the back and sat by my friend.
He pulled an answer key out of his pockets and said let the A's begin,
And begin they did! I got the highest grade in the class.
Suddenly it wasn't good enough for me to just pass.
I then became obsessed with not being beat.
I turned into the type of person who trips his opponents in a track meet.
My life was great! I was cheating my way to the top,
But as all good things do, my success came to an abrupt stop.
I got a test back and instead of an A it had "see me after class". I looked at my friend and he told me I better pray that God saves my ass.
She told me she knew I cheated but she would give me one more chance as long as I was willing to give up the answer key I was hiding in my pants.
I gave it to her and got out of her office in a rush.
Then on the next test we took I made a freaking B+, deep down inside that was good enough for me.
As for my friend, he's still cheating his way to his degree.
Morale of the story is until you get caught cheating is cool,
But it only works for some people sometimes, so pay attention in school.
