Far be us from the tale
Of two cities; rather, we are
The stark reality of one city
With two wrinkled tales;
Distinctive differences
Are evident in physical settings
And the hue of respective populations
As well as varied economically
Induced toxic stress;
While one cardinal side
Reflects being frozen in time,
The other flows freely with the time;
As an ocean’s salt and water
Do not flow separately but together
As one, so must become the city’s flow
Least we become the forecasted disaster.
