The irony of “Black Lives Matter”
lies in it being an ideological truth
rather than a divine truth in the minds
and actions of the black community.
For we must yet be forever reminded,
that divine truth is not an idea but is “…
an event breaking into the brokenness of
our history—restoring wholeness and grace
in our culturally based communities.
Marching downtown and loudly chanting
“Black Lives Matter!...No justice no peace!”
to those who could care less is one thing,
but turning such chants into the action of reality
is another; indeed, a mere axiomatic perspective
can only perpetuate and contradict the divine will
to liberate downtrodden black communities
from accepting self-imposed suicidal-like oppressive
acts that have re-enslaved so many of our own people.
The point is this, how much longer will we continue
To allow ourselves to be victims of that self oppressive
Phenomenon…that is so detrimental to our struggle
And [so] pleasing to the white eyes of our true oppressors
Joyfully watching and fist-bumping…we blacks killing each other?!
How long will we continue to allow the renegade black oppressed
To kill our mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and children because
They and we have allowed fear to crush the balls of our bravery
Preventing us from dealing with the oppressive forces at work
In our own communities—how long will we continue
To do our oppressors’ job for them: The near extinction of another
No longer needed hued humanity; all of whose life indeed matter?
