Daddy friend

My dad was one of my best friends. I'd give anything to be in his presence again. I've been missing his voice for a long long time. I've been missing his strength and how he'd be my anchor when I felt myself losing my mind. I learned to forgive, a gift of grace, that without my lessons would hinder my race, I wouldn't take back my victories. I learned to be conscious is part of being free. Seeing the pain like grains of sand, the memories so real help me understand. So I have a daddy that taught me how to open my thoughts and speak out loud. To be proud of the experience that we call life, to take the good and bad and reach past strife. I am part of a legacy that takes what life brings and heals to plant better seeds. The yield a moment that's mine has us all tapping to find that we are more than memories as he was, is a staple in time.
