The tomorrows of your worst days

CATEGORY

Every storm runs out of rain

Maya Angelou once claimed

But without an umbrella, cold and miserable

Life seems so unfair and abysmal

It’s difficult to see yourself dry

So you wipe your brow, fix your posture and lie

And tell yourself that this ain’t so bad

Then a bus splashes you, standing on the sidewalk all drenched and mad

Ice cold water drips down your back

Guttered into your underwear via the crack

But you continue walking inexplicably Pigeon-toed

Bent but not broken, frustrated and cold

Your mind punishes you with negative energy

‘Why are you such a loser?’ and ‘it sucks to be me’

Then a small voice jokes to lift your spirit

‘Snow might be worse’, you chuckle when you hear it

Perspective and time can turn challenging situations into lessons

The tomorrows of your worse days are blessings
