Because of the unending flow
Of memory, scaring pain has its way
Staying afloat the water of life,
Anchoring itself like rocks in a river.
Indeed, the river of memory flows deep,
Washing away uncertainty, revealing
The painful truth, which—like memory—never lies;
If it didn’t happen, the memory would not be.
Yet, between the banks of this flowing river,
It waters likewise washes over its embedded
Rocks of pain, eroding a channelled waterfall;
Particle pain spewed into the calming sea of life.
And there in the calming clear waters, strong will
Life, riding the ship of Zion, daily stands perpendicular
At her bow; sailing with guided determined winds.
While pain blows away, memory floats in love’s peace.
