In her cosmic and terrestrial
equity,
nature has given old winter
time
to organize and do its frosting
thing.
In her circadian rhythmic
certainty,
she’s now toning out what’s left
behind
and is now about to usher in
the spring.
What winter didn’t crucify must wait
another year;
for the resurrecting spring is now on
its way here.
Our lives have had their chilling winters
of discontent;
now we must pull it all together and
spring anew!
No longer in the struggle can any be counted
as being absent;
God has saved and strengthened us for the work
we’ve yet to do.
So in the coming resurrecting spring
of our life,
let us be faithfully prepared for whatever
may arise;
for with our God forever watching over me
and you,
there’s nothing evil in this world that we can’t
undo.
Yes, the Lord is our light and our salvation; whom or what
shall we fear?
Despite wintering iniquities—in the spring of struggle—we
will still be here.
