The violence of war and terrorism—
domestic and abroad— have been pandemic
concerns for quite a while; plagues, smallpox,
measles, flu and pneumonia, have had their limelight
concerns too; and the ever-present pandemic
of inequality, and injustice remains social, political
and economical concerns. Now, our society must turn
its attention towards the pandemic COVID-19,
that we may again control attendant collateral damage.
Let us not allow our recent concerns to suffer the atrocities
of injustice and inequality. For although we have walked
through the shadows of death and faithfully feared no evil,
let us not take our blessings for granted. Rather, let us truly
be concerned with the evil threats of COVID-19 and all the other
pandemic situations that equally threatens the peace, love
and tranquility of our lives. Let us not become victims of
paranoia but humans of awareness; prevention being better
than cure is truly a wise axiom. May it now become self evident.
