Black and Serving

My friend asked me what it's like to be Black and to serve, I said, it’s kinda like being the kid that no one really wants to be around, but your parents bought you all of the cool toys, so they allow you to play in their barbed wire playhouse, make you feel like you have all the friends in the world, I mean nah, it's kinda like being a blood, because you can shed blood on bloody battlefields, but the minute you get home the boys in blue is after you, and maybe they crippin, I mean trippin, but the navy floats on blue seas under blue skies so maybe that's why they bang on us, a military ID can’t save us even when we walk through the gates, cause two strikes have been placed in the spot of your rank insignias, snipers with their rifles stand watch on the tower locked and loaded, waiting for the order to fire until someone comes across their radio channel and says hold it, he’s one of the good ones, don’t shoot, and I put my hands up out of fear and say I am unarmed, please do not Michael Brown me, but they say you’re good, come in, and I stand in formation at quarters in my camouflage, but I still can't hide my skin tone, and one by one, they call us off, attent hut, petty , I mean petty officer, staff sambo, I’m sorry I mean staff sargeant, master slave, I mean master sergeant, and he says excuse me for my foul ups, even though I know he taking free shots at us like free throws cause he’s foul and ***ing flagrant, and this is blatant racism disguised in petty terms of one team one fight, united states will unite against the war on terror, except Black servicemen is Top 10 on the terror watchlist, and our turbins are fitted caps, our garments are loose jeans, sandals are maybe some Kobe’s, some Jordan’s or Bron’s, and much like the GOATS, we are nothing but basket cases to them, so as we stand watch, they watching us, 11 genereal orders are in place for the sentry, but I swear this century is the 1700’s cause I am merely a field transported by ship and ironically they navy has about 200 of em, ready to transport me and my brothers to a fight for rich people’s plight, and when its all said and done, I get a nice paper saying thank you , but you are no longer needed , good luck in the outside world dealing with the police , oh, you’re a disabled vet, I guarantee your gonna go hang with the crips , , so to answer ya question, what is it like to be Black and to serve, its like playing Russian roulette, every single day
