I broke your vase
you broke my heart
I didn't mean for it to fall
I ran to catch it but it was
too late the pieces were
all over the floor
I took time to apologize
it made you cry even more
no amount of money can pay
then you waged war against me
I fought you off in
self defense and still
got charged with
a piece of evidence
I swore on a stack of
bibles I would never
worship vain idols
it only leads to brokenness
some can never go home again
some fences will never mend
over so much pettiness
some things cannot be replaced
like an old porcelain vase
