In love with the other side of the mirror
• Unfortunately, we as MELANIN women have been the underdogs since the beginning of time.
Thinking that falling in love with the opposite race was supposed to be heaven sent the love we had for our brothers back then was definite.
Sure enough it was sound and religious for us to be ONE in flesh.
The men back then had dominant love for our black queens that made us feel strong to have a man that supported us as we raised the kids.
• In todays society, men are taught to populate the earth with no intent on being around to see the birth.
• As for us mothers, all we see is heartache, voided promises and unwanted children surfacing the earth; thus falling victim to the “baby mama syndrome”
• Another attack is Cultural Appropriation.
-Being ridiculed for having brown skin or being too rich in skin; just for some pale skin mum to go get tanned only to mimic what we already have naturally?
Our hair being called “NAPPY” and our Locs being called “dreadful” only for them to idolize and wear it like it’s being growing out of their roots, but it’s our roots.
• Our HIPS, OUR LIPS, OUR DIPS, OUR GOLD, OUR DIAMONDS, OUR BLOOD, OUR LAND, AND OUR MEN!!
• Sisters it’s time to stand up for what’s ours and give it all we got! If we don’t love ourselves who will?
• No more bleaching, no more dyeing, no more compromising anything that’s naturally ours.
• We’ve been through enough. It’s time to take a stand and fall in love all over again.
• I vow to enlighten and open up the windows of heaven through the woman’s eyes to see her reflection in the mirror
Her reflection is the only person she should love and seek validation from- from now on.
• Realize with real eyes, that NO man could ever love you the way you need to be love.
Inner-stand that your skin, your texture, & your curves are beautiful just they way they are. You must first become a lover of celf before anyone else can love you.
•Take my advice,
- fall in love with the other side of the mirror.
