God's No Stranger

CATEGORY

I CRAWL OUT FROM BEHIND THE BUSH

AND FIND MYSELF INTO THE CITY STREET,

VERY SOON I HEAR ANCESTRAL CRYING ALOUD

UNAFRAID, CLEAR TRAFFIC, CANNOT FEEL THE SUN'S HEAT.

I THEN BEG MY SWEATY HANDS TO GO BACK TO SAFETY

BUT MY COLOR BLENDS IN WITH THE EARTH,

SHADOWS OF KINSHIP NEAR AND FAR APPEAR

HELPING ME TO JUSTIFY MY UNWAVERING SELF WORTH.

EYES OF MY HEART AND BRAIN AND SPIRIT JUMPS

CAUTIOUS, YET I'M AT EASE TO ENJOY THE DANGER,

SIMON SAYS- RED LIGHT GREEN LIGHT- HIDE AND SEEK,

NO DEATH NO MOURNING, I PLAY-- GOD'S NO STRANGER.
