Rain’s perfume

CATEGORY

just different

Early summer sitting on the porch

Gray clouds part as a thunderstorm floats forth

Still warm from hours in the summer heat

Then a cool breeze blows and quickly chills my feet

Birds fly and bugs bite in anticipation

Rain’s perfume permeates ahead of precipitation

An illusion that never gets old is rain as it first hits the street

Steam dances there no place I rather be

Greener greens than you’ve ever seen

Whenever it rains the world seems so clean
