<Black>
If I protested with caution
And bought my daughter to witness
And she accidentally caught COVID (or a bullet) would you question my parental fitness?
We’re in dire straits, putting it all on the line
But America is still indifferent, searching for evidence of its spine...
<White>
Jewish people are a minority, and they are doing just fine!
So why are African Americans the subject of almost every headline?
Slavey ended over 150 years ago, and what’s with the BLM pound sign?
<Black>
Ethnic enclaves like Chinatown, Little Italy, Little India and Koreatown current exist
Guess what happened to the African American equivalents?
Black Wall Street was burned, and the Black Star Line was thwarted
Black folks were hung, terrorized, integrated, redlined, and our history remains distorted
Jewish people are united (in general) by a world leading religion
I believe in the same God, but my ancestors had no choice in the decision
For thousands of years, Jewish people have been ‘chosen’ worldwide
For hundreds of years Black people were stolen, raped, beaten, and then died!
All in the name of religion, economics, and history that our nation holds so dear
America’s three pillars: greed, death, and fear!
A stolen land made rich by slaves and oppression
But you still wonder if #BLM is a suggestion or question?
<White>
I’m not responsible for slavery
And I have two friends who are black!
But I’m confused by this conversation, and honestly feel like I’m being attacked!
If I tweet #All Lives Matter, I could lose my job!
My wife (Karen) posted #Blue Lives Matter on Facebook and was attacked by a virtual mob!
I just want things to go back to the good old days
When things weren’t so politically correct, and people didn’t get things twisted/sideways
A familiar impasse among black and white friends
Compromise and disappointment is where it typically ends
Privilege is blinding and oppression has no remedy
Mutually beneficial solutions are fiction, to the spoils belong the victor or enemy
