We been suffering
For a long long time Coming
For a while now
I been thinking
It could of been me
Mama
It could of been me
At age 24
Now I’m scare
To walk outside
Minding my own business
Walking down the street
In a world so naïve
I can’t find nowhere safe
For the color of my skin
I’m far from innocent
In the white man eyes
We all guilty
For being alive
Cause somebody told them
They were perfect
We been suffering
For a long long time Coming
Isn’t it about time
You stop locking up us
On false claims
***ing up my future
no way I can go to college degree
Label a felon
Cant get my own apartment
Label a felon
How am I supposed to gain employment
This has to comes to a end
Proving our innocence
But only seeing
How different I am
From my skin to yours
I was guilty from the start
Set go
You may now start the test
Testing to see if we going
To be ruled by our emotions
As humans that is our only Weak feature
Dress In a suit
That’s not what u wanna see
Cover in all orange
Brings joys to your day
Sleeping at night
God bless George Floyd
And his family
You have my support
No our support
As a black community
We stand with you
If we don’t speak up
Then who will
If we don’t fight for change
Who will
We have a voice
In the year 2020
God bless my ancestors
They pave the way
For my voice to be heard
For my voice to mean something
So here we are as a black community
Projecting our voice
Because we matter
We the victims had enough
It’s time for us to hold our ground
Protecting our family
Cause they don’t give a ***
We the victims are here
In 2020 to reinforce change
So our kids, our family’s, our friends
So we the victims can at least
Live to see another day
