This is for my brothers.
I see you working hard.
Frustrated because you want to love,
but too scare to let down your guard.
Sistas be tearing you down all day.
“, you ain’t ” is all they seem to say.
So you get angry and call them a “female dog”,
would be different if we could just have dialogue.
I would tell you how strong I think you are.
I see your pain as you strive to go far.
You are the moon and I am your star.
Cheering you on when the nights get too dark.
Just talk to me.
Tell me what you need.
If it’s blood,
I’ll cut my wrist and bleed.
This black woman’s desire is to hold you down.
On your head, I would place a crown.
Surrender my heart, soul and body,
If I could just trust that you got me.
I want to feel safe.
I imagine you do too.
We both been hurt so much,
We don’t know false from truth.
So, I’ll go first
and surrender my heart.
These words may not mean much to you,
but it’s a start.
This world wants us to hate each other,
but God meant for us to be unequivocal lovers.
As our beautiful brown skin rubs together under covers,
we create life like no other.
Kings and Queens are spun from our unity.
To lead the nations is the Black man’s duty.
My duty is to follow.
And if you lead fairly,
that’s not a hard pill to swallow.
I’ll do it with Grace, Dignity and Honor.
From my lips to my hips, death before dishonor.
So if no one bothered to tell you today,
Please let me be the first to say,
“Black Man I Adore You!”
Feet of bronze, hair of wool, creator of all mankind,
I kneel before you!
For you are my Adam and I am your Eve.
Flesh of your Flesh,
from the time I was conceived.
And if we give up on each other,
we all shall grieve.
It’s time to have faith in each other,
Please Believe!!!!!
While some people write to entertain,
I write in an effort to stay sane.
