Contrary to the belief
of some
death is not bondage
rather
it is the spirit of death
which bounds
the soul and strips it
of its own
spiritual power…shackling
us to self extinction…
It is this spirit of death
flowing from the floodgate
of racism
and its wounds of slavery
that has drowned
all rational awareness
of the souls
of many lost black youths
who have become
obsessed
with self-hate violence
being inflicted upon their own…
The psychosis
of inflicting self-violence
has many psycho-physical
causes:
~going to war for the freedom
of others
while theirs remain denied…
~drug abuse mental corrosion…
~savoring rival gang violence…
~victimization of self doubt…
Though all of these
and a plethora of other
excuses have played
significant roles in the collapse
of our self worthiness…
It must be realized by us all
that we have allowed
racism’s oppressive fear
and its futility of self-hatred
to turn us inside-out
scorching ourselves
with the community chaos
we’re now bearing…
It is now self evident
that we must reap and destroy
the mutated fruits and seeds
that have infested our dwelling’s
fertile grounds…
It’s one thing to demand
the world to realize
Black lives Matter
but it’s another to ensure
likewise…among ourselves…
The time is now
and now is the time
for we blacks to cut the bull
and be about doing
what needs to be done
from within to guarantee
for us that life
liberty and the pursuit
of happiness will flow within
all the levels of our lives…
Let us now vow
to wrench ourselves
from the evil belly bowels
of the racist syndrome
that has lynched our spirit
of power and oneness
in our revolutionary struggle…
Dearly beloveth
let us ever be mindful
that liberation
does not come from without
but from within
and that there can be no liberation
without self-transformation….
