When it feels like the weight of
The world is upon my shoulders
And the pain of discouragement
Digs its heels deeper
In my heart and won’t let go
I can hear Bob Marley’s song
“Don’t worry ‘bout a thing
‘Cause every little thing
Gonna be alright”.
I find myself smiling again.
When the excruciating pain of
Unresponsive reaching outs
Runs rampant through my soul
And the emptiness of abandonment
Rears its ugly head, I reach
For the solace of my headphones
My pain begins to subside
As the soothing melodies
Calm me and relieve my stress.
I find myself coming back to me.
When I feel the weight of
The world upon my shoulders
And the pain of discouragement
Digs its heels deeper
In my heart and won’t let go
I stop; take a breath and a moment.
Seeking words of comfort
I reach for my book because
In the midst of all our
Trials and tribulations of life
Our reassurance is the 46th Psalm.
My strength has been renewed.
