My mind was blown
There was something so enticing...
so genuinely inviting to my curiosity of the unknown
And through time the intensity of what I never even thought I'd feel
has grown
I had pronounced the doors to my heart to be closed
temporarily that is
But along came the outline of the most interesting paragraph in my life and claimed my heart would be his
And it is
I allowed myself to be swept away within the winds of every beautiful word he whispered in my ear
Slowly introducing him to the shattered pieces of the old me I let him shuffle through my thoughts and preview my doubts, resentments, and fears
He was aware that pain... was a topic of which I have had my fair share
I presented him with my heart wrapped with a beautiful silk ribbon and a note that read:
“Please Handle With Careâ€
And the moment that I extended the invitation to explore the regions within me it became clear that this thing was meant to be
It was written on the walls of my heart as confirmation
The passion that exists between our bodies brought our souls to levitation
And to think this is only the beginning
To think I became so familiar to the idea of losing that I forgot that the real goal was winning
I thank you in advance for every smile and the echoes of laughter that awaits us
