I have seen the changing of the tides
and the tides of change;
have walked the sidewalks,
grasses and mud in this life.
I have swum the in the rivers,
oceans and seas of this world—
climbed the trees, the hills
and mountains of this land’s strife.
Yet, I have not experienced
the equanimity that should exist
between you and me:
I pity the shame heaped upon you;
denied the same equanimity too.
